COVID Statement

Statement of behalf of Raheny GAA

Earlier today Raheny GAA were notified of a positive COVID case in our Men's Senior Football Team. The player involved has shown no symptoms and underwent a routine work related COVID test. A positive test has come as surprise to him, his teammates and mentors.

The club has consulted with the Dublin County Board to determine the best course of action to ensure that the health of players, officials and members is protected. Following this consultation the club is taking the following actions:

  • The Men's Senior Football panel will not train or play matches until all panellists are tested and return a negative result. Contact tracing is taking place by health officials and close contacts will be identified and contacted. Players and mentors will follow health advice in relation to isolating and health monitoring.
  • All other club games will take place on the basis that the teams involved have had no contact with the Men's Senior Football Panel during the last 14 days. All players and teams should follow normal GAA guidelines ensuring that Return to Play Health Questionnaires are completed before each training session or game.

We would ask all of our members, players and coaches to maintain vigilance in the battle against COVID.
